Designing Wedding Menus

How does one choose? A sit-down plated meal, Modified Stations Concept or A Traditional Buffet. One of the most important decisions our clients have to make when planning their reception is choosing a menu format. Formal sit-down meals are elegant and offer a lot of service but can limit the variety of foods offered.

The newest concept is the modified stations concept. The guests are invited to help themselves to one of at least two but often more theme stations. These may include pasta stations, carving stations, raw bars and even dessert stations.

My favorite is the Traditional Buffet where the main entrees, side dishes and salads are all on the same table and guests go through the buffet line and help themselves. I think this is the most efficient and affordable but it’s all up to the client.
